IUPUI student, Kristina Gill, has served as a tutor/mentor for the IU Student Success Corps (IU SSC), formally the Indiana Kids program, since 2018. Watch the video as Gill chats with Kayla Nunnally, Program Manager of IU SSC, about her overall experiences and biggest takeaways of being a tutor/mentor in the program.
Gill tutored in some of the higher-level math and science studies. While serving in the program, she completed a bachelor’s degree in biology and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in environmental policy and sustainability at IUPUI.
Currently, Gil is transitioning out of the program into a full-time position in her career field. In the video, Gill explains how her work in the program helped to secure her new job. She also shares her experiences with adjusting from a hybrid to a virtual model, professional development opportunities, lessons learned, and more!
